Your Home Page
Filter Home by person and brand, add, move, resize and remove widgets, and start new content from the Create menu.
Home is the first page you see after you log in. It’s a dashboard that pulls together what needs your attention across all your brands: content waiting for review, your tasks, unread comments, today’s posts and more.
Home is made of widgets, small panels you can add, move, resize and remove. Every person has their own Home, so you can set it up the way you work without changing anyone else’s.
Open it any time from Home in the sidebar, or go straight to Home.
Quick start (5 minutes)
- Open Home.
- At the top, check the person filter shows your name. That’s the default.
- If you manage several brands, pick one from the brand filter (it says All brands to start).
- Click Add Widget and add Publishing Today.
- Drag the new widget by its title bar to where you want it.
- Click Create and pick Design to start a new design for that brand.
Example: Priya runs social for a bakery and a florist. Each morning she opens Home with All brands selected. The Reviews widget shows two designs waiting for her approval, and Publishing Today shows the bakery’s 11:00 AM post.
The top of the Home page
Across the top of Home you’ll find:
- The person filter (a person icon). It shows your name at first. Pick someone else to see what’s waiting on them, or All users to see everyone.
- The brand filter (a briefcase icon). All brands shows everything. Pick a brand to see only that brand.
- Search everything… finds content across your brands. See Searching in Orsa.
- Refresh (the circular arrow). Reloads every widget with the latest information.
- Create opens the Create menu.
Below the filters, Home greets you with Welcome back. and a one-line summary, like 3 awaiting review · 5 tasks · 2 unread comments. The summary only counts widgets you have on your Home.
Filter Home by person and brand
The two filters at the top of Home change what the widgets show.
The person filter
- Click the person filter (it shows your name).
- Pick a teammate, or All users.
When a brand is selected, the list only shows that brand’s team. With All brands, it shows everyone across your brands.
The brand filter
- Click the brand filter.
- Pick a brand, or All brands.
Not every widget uses both filters:
| Widget | Uses the brand filter | Uses the person filter |
|---|---|---|
| Reviews | Yes | Yes |
| Tasks | Yes | Yes |
| Unread Comments | Yes | No |
| Cadence Fulfillment | Yes | No |
| Upcoming Pillar Mix | Yes | No |
| Today’s Engagement | Yes | No |
| Publishing Today | Yes | No |
| Notifications | No | No |
Your filter choices are remembered in this browser, so Home opens the same way next time.
Example: a manager wants to check what her assistant Sam still has to do for the florist brand. She picks Sam in the person filter and Bloom & Stem in the brand filter. The Tasks widget now shows Sam’s open tasks for that brand.
Add a widget
- Click Add Widget (above the widgets, on the right).
- Pick a widget from the list. Each one has a short description.
- The widget appears at the bottom of your Home.
Each widget can only be on Home once. When all of them are already on your Home, Add Widget is greyed out.
A new Home starts with two widgets: Reviews and Tasks.
Move, resize and remove widgets
On a computer:
- Move: click and hold a widget’s title bar, then drag it to a new spot. The other widgets shift to make room.
- Resize: drag the bottom-right corner of a widget.
- Remove: click the × in the top-right corner of the widget. It goes back into the Add Widget list, so you can add it again later.
- See what a widget does: hover over the small info icon next to its title.
Your layout saves by itself a moment after each change. It’s saved to your account, so it’s the same on any computer you log in on.
On a phone, widgets are stacked in one column in the same order as your layout. You can’t add, move, resize or remove widgets on a phone. Do that on a computer.
The widgets
Clicking an item in a widget opens it in a new browser tab, so Home stays open. Tasks are the exception: they open in a side panel on Home.
Reviews
Content waiting for approval. The Review tab lists items in Review where the person in the person filter is an approver. The Edit tab lists items sent back for changes. See The Reviews widget on Home.
Tasks
Tasks assigned to the person in the person filter, on two tabs: To do (which also lists In Progress tasks) and Completed. Click the circle next to a task to mark it done, or click the task to open it. Pick a brand first to add a task with +. See Tasks.
Unread Comments
Comments from the last 7 days that you haven’t read yet, in all your brands, grouped by the item they’re on. Click Mark read to clear one. See Comments and Mentions.
Cadence Fulfillment
For each active posting schedule, how many of its expected posts already have content scheduled, for 1 Week, 2 Weeks or a Custom range. See Cadence Fulfillment below.
Upcoming Pillar Mix
For each content pillar, whether your scheduled content matches the pillar’s target share, marked Missing, On Track or Overbooked. See Upcoming Pillar Mix below and Content Pillars.
Today’s Engagement
Recent Google reviews of your brand’s locations, newest first, for Today, 1 Week, 2 Weeks or a Custom range. Click one to open it. See Brand Info and Locations.
Notifications
The same notifications as the bell in the sidebar, with All, Unread and Read tabs and a Mark read or Mark unread button on each. See Notifications.
Publishing Today
Designs scheduled to go out today, with the time and where they’re going. Click one to open the design. See Where Your Posts Appear.
Cadence Fulfillment in detail
The Cadence Fulfillment widget checks whether you have enough content lined up for your brand’s posting schedules (for example, “Instagram, 3 times a week”). You set those schedules up on your brand’s Info tab. See Content Channels and Schedules.
- Pick a period: 1 Week, 2 Weeks or Custom. Custom shows two dates and starts on next month.
- Each schedule shows a bar and a line like 2/3 scheduled for delivery in the next 7 days.
- Below the bar, each expected post is a small chip with its day:
- Green with a check: content is scheduled for it. Click to open that content.
- Dashed with +: nothing is scheduled yet. Click to start a new design (or a blog post, for a blog schedule) for that date and time. It opens in a new tab.
- Faded with ×: the time has already passed.
- Click Missing to only show schedules and chips that still need content.
A chip turns green when a design linked to that schedule is scheduled to go out within 12 hours of the chip’s time. For a blog schedule, any blog post scheduled within 12 hours counts.
A schedule that says Not trackable yet has no content type set, so Orsa can’t measure it. Hover over the text to see why.
Example: a café’s “Instagram Feed, Mon/Wed/Fri at 9:00” schedule shows 2/3 scheduled for delivery in the next 7 days. Monday and Wednesday are green, and Friday has a +. The café owner knows she still needs a Friday post.
Upcoming Pillar Mix in detail
The Upcoming Pillar Mix widget compares the content you’ve scheduled with the target share you set for each content pillar.
- Pick a period: 1 Week, 2 Weeks or Custom.
- Each pillar shows a line like 1 of 2 planned · 30% share and a label:
- The share is the pillar’s share of your posting, from its target coverage. Orsa turns it into a number of posts for the period.
- Planned is how many of those posts are already scheduled. The bar fills up as you get closer to the number needed.
- On Track means planned is between 85% and 115% of the number needed.
- Missing means you’re short on content for that pillar.
- Overbooked means you have more than the pillar’s share.
Scheduled designs, blog posts and marketing emails count. A piece only counts toward a pillar if it’s linked to an idea with a sub-pillar from that pillar.
Example: a gym’s Member stories pillar has a 30% target. The next two weeks have 6 posting slots, so it needs about 2 posts. One is scheduled, so it shows 1 of 2 planned · 30% share and Missing.
The Create menu
The Create button at the top of Home starts new content for the brand in the brand filter.
- Pick a brand in the brand filter. With All brands, you’ll see Pick a brand first.
- Click Create.
- Pick Design, Transcript, Document, Blog or Email.
- Orsa creates a blank one and opens it in a new tab.
New designs from this menu are square (1080 × 1080). You can change the size in the editor. To make an AI Design or a new idea, use the Create page or the Ideas board.
Ideas for using Home
A morning check-in. Keep Reviews, Tasks and Publishing Today at the top, so the first thing you see is what’s waiting and what’s going out.
Example: an agency account manager puts Publishing Today top left and Reviews top right. She opens Home at 8:30, checks today’s three posts, then approves the two designs waiting for her.
A weekly planning view. Add Cadence Fulfillment and Upcoming Pillar Mix, set both to 2 Weeks, and fill the gaps.
Example: on Friday, a salon owner sees two dashed + chips next week and Promotions marked Overbooked. She makes two Behind the scenes posts instead of another promo.
Checking on a teammate. Pick their name in the person filter to see their reviews and tasks, then switch back to yourself.
Tips for the best results
- Pick a brand before you use Create. The menu needs one brand to know where the new content goes.
- Set up posting schedules with a content type. Without one, Cadence Fulfillment shows Not trackable yet.
- Link content to ideas with sub-pillars. That’s how Upcoming Pillar Mix knows which pillar a post belongs to.
- Only keep the widgets you use. A shorter Home loads faster and is easier to scan.
- Click Refresh after a teammate makes changes. Most widgets don’t update by themselves while Home is open.
Common questions
My Home looks empty or is missing a widget. You may have removed it. Click Add Widget and add it back. Also check the brand filter: a widget only shows items from the selected brand.
I can’t add, move or remove widgets on my phone. That’s expected. On a phone, Home shows your widgets in one column. Change your layout on a computer; the phone shows the new order next time.
Clicking Create says “Pick a brand first”. The brand filter is set to All brands. Pick one brand, then click Create again.
The + button in Tasks is greyed out. Hover over it: Select a brand to add a task. Pick a brand in the brand filter first.
An item isn’t in my Reviews widget. Check the person filter shows you (or All users) and the brand filter includes the item’s brand. You also need to be an approver on it. See Reviews and Approvals.
A comment’s link in Unread Comments opened Home instead of the item. This can happen for comments on documents and marketing emails. Open the item from the Create page instead.
Today’s Engagement doesn’t show comments from my social posts. The widget can also list comments on your brand’s own social posts, but these aren’t being collected regularly right now. You may see few or none. Google reviews come in once a day.
A Cadence Fulfillment chip is still dashed after I made a design. A chip only turns green when a design linked to that posting schedule is scheduled to go out within 12 hours of the chip’s time. Making the design isn’t enough on its own. See Scheduling a Post.
I changed my layout on one computer. Will it show on another? Yes. Your layout is saved to your account. The person and brand filters are remembered per browser, though.
Does changing my Home change it for my team? No. Each person has their own Home layout.
