The Create Page — Find and Start Every Piece of Content
Browse, search, filter and start designs, AI designs, transcripts, documents, blogs, marketing emails and boards from one page.
The Create page is where all of your brand’s content lives. Every design, AI design, transcript, document, blog, marketing email and board for the brand you have selected shows up here as a card.
From this one page you can:
- Start something new with the Create button.
- Find things with search, Smart search and filters.
- Manage cards: open, rename, duplicate, copy a link or delete.
Open it from the sidebar under Create, or go straight to Create.
Quick start (5 minutes)
- Open Create. The Designs tab opens first.
- Click Create at the top right. The Create New Content window opens.
- Pick Design under Select Type, then click Create.
- A new card called Untitled Design appears at the top of the list, and you’ll see “Design created!”.
- Click the card to open it in the design editor. See Using the Design Editor.
Example: a coffee shop owner wants a post for a new spring drink. They click Create, pick Design, open Untitled Design, and rename it “Spring latte launch” in the editor’s Info panel.
The content tabs
The row of tabs above the cards picks which kind of content you see. Each tab matches one item under Create in the sidebar, but a few names differ slightly:
| Tab on the Create page | Sidebar item | What it holds |
|---|---|---|
| Designs | Design | Social posts, stories, banners and other visuals you edit on a canvas |
| AI Design | AI Design | Requests where Orsa AI makes a design for you from a brief |
| Transcripts | Transcript | Video scripts, split into scenes |
| Documents | Document | Free-form written documents |
| Blog | Blog | Blog posts written step by step with AI |
| Marketing Email | Marketing Email | Email newsletters and campaigns |
| Boards | Board | Whiteboards for brainstorming |
Clicking a sidebar item opens the Create page on the matching tab. The tab you’re on is part of the page address, so you can bookmark a tab or share it.
You only see content for the brand selected at the top of the sidebar. To see another brand’s content, switch brands first.
Creating new content
- Click Create at the top right of the Create page.
- In Create New Content, pick a type under Select Type. The type of the tab you’re on is picked for you.
- Click Create.
What happens next depends on the type:
| Type | What you get |
|---|---|
| Design | A blank square (1080 × 1080) design called Untitled Design appears at the top of Designs. Click it to open the editor. You’re added as its assignee, and your brand’s default approvers are added automatically. |
| AI Design | A new AI design request opens right away, set up for an Instagram Post. Fill in the brief there. See AI Design Requests. |
| Transcript | A new transcript called “untitled” appears in Transcripts. Click it to start writing. See Transcripts. |
| Document | A new Untitled Document opens in the document editor. See Documents. |
| Blog | A new blog opens in the blog editor. See Writing a Blog with AI. |
| Marketing Email | A new Untitled Email opens in the email editor. See Marketing Emails. |
| Board | A new Untitled Board opens. See Boards. |
Click Cancel, or click outside the window, to close it without creating anything.
Example: you’re on the Documents tab and click Create. Document is already picked, so you just click Create and start typing.
Searching
The search box sits next to the Create button. It searches the tab you’re on. Search works on Designs, Transcripts, Documents, Blog and Marketing Email. It doesn’t filter the AI Design or Boards tabs.
Regular search finds content by its name. It runs by itself a moment after you stop typing:
| Tab | Searches |
|---|---|
| Designs | The design name |
| Transcripts | The transcript title |
| Documents and Blog | The title |
| Marketing Email | The subject line |
Smart search finds content by what it’s about, not just its name. It looks at the words inside your designs, scripts, documents and emails.
- Click Smart inside the search box. The box gets a colored outline.
- Describe what you’re looking for, like me talking about cookies or summer sale with a discount code.
- Press Enter or click the magnifying glass. Smart search doesn’t run while you type.
- Click Smart again to go back to regular search.
Example: you remember a carousel about cold brew but not its name. Turn on Smart, type cold brew recipe tips and press Enter. Designs whose text talks about cold brew show up, even if they’re named “Untitled Design”.
Switching tabs clears the search box.
Filtering
Click Filter next to the tabs. The filter menu has these sections:
- Status: show only content with one status: Draft, Edit, In Progress, Review, Approved, Published or Archived. Pick Any status to see everything.
- Tags: show only content with the tags you tick. You can tick more than one. If your brand has no tags yet, you’ll see “No tags yet”.
- Type (Designs tab only): All items or Templates only.
Active filters show as chips under the tabs. Click a chip’s × to remove it, or click Clear all in the filter menu. The Filter button shows how many filters are on.
Good to know:
- Your Status choice is remembered in this browser and stays on when you switch tabs.
- Templates only is saved to your account, so it stays on next time you open Designs, on any device.
- Tags reset when you leave the page.
- On the AI Design tab only Status applies. On the Boards tab, filters don’t apply.
Reading a card
Each card shows:
- A preview. Designs show their pages (scroll sideways inside the preview to see more, and a badge like 3 pages tells you how many). Transcripts show the start of the script. Content without a preview shows its type.
- The name and when it was last updated.
- A speech-bubble icon when there are New comments you haven’t read.
- Channel icons under a design that has posts scheduled or published. Hover over them to see where and when.
- The status (with a colored dot), its tags, and a Template badge for designs saved as templates.
Card menus
Click the ⋮ button on a card to see its details (who created it, the brand, when it was updated) and its actions. The actions depend on the type:
| Type | Actions |
|---|---|
| Designs | Open, View, Download, Duplicate, Copy Link, Delete |
| AI Design | View, Delete |
| Transcripts | Copy Link, Preview, Download, Delete |
| Documents, Blog, Marketing Email, Boards | Open, Copy Link, Delete |
What each one does:
- Open: opens the editor. Clicking the card itself does the same.
- View (designs): shows the design’s pages full size, without opening the editor. Only shows once the design has a preview.
- View (AI Design): opens the AI design request in a new browser tab.
- Download (designs): opens the download options. See Exporting Designs.
- Duplicate (designs): makes a copy named “Name (Copy)”. The copy has the same pages, caption and tags. It starts as a draft, without the status, approvers or schedules.
- Copy Link: copies a link to this item. Teammates in the brand can open it. To share with people outside your team, use a share link instead. See Sharing with Share Links.
- Preview and Download (transcripts): open a preview of the script, or download it as a PDF. Both show only once the transcript has at least one scene.
- Delete: asks you to confirm, then deletes the item. There is no undo.
Renaming a design from its card
Click a design’s name under its card, type the new name, then press Enter or click the check mark. For other types, open the item and rename it inside its editor.
Ideas for using the Create page
Find everything that’s waiting for approval.
Open Filter, pick Review under Status, then go through the tabs. Each tab now shows only content waiting for review.
Reuse a layout every week.
A bakery posts a “Bake of the week” every Friday. They save one design as a template, turn on Templates only to find it, and use Duplicate to start each new week’s post.
Track a campaign with tags.
Tag everything for a spring promotion with spring-launch. Then pick that tag under Filter to see every design, script and email for the campaign, tab by tab.
Tips for the best results
- Name things as soon as you create them. New content starts as “Untitled”. Regular search only looks at names, so ten “Untitled Design” cards are hard to tell apart.
- Use Smart search when you don’t know the name. It works best with a few descriptive words, like holiday hours announcement, not a single word.
- Keep statuses up to date. The Status filter is only as useful as the statuses on your cards.
- Duplicate instead of starting over. For a series, duplicate your best design and change the text. Your layout and branding stay the same.
- Check the filter chips when something seems to be missing. A forgotten status or tag filter is the most common reason a card “disappears”.
Common questions
The Create page says “Select a Brand”. You don’t have a brand selected. Pick one at the top of the sidebar, or create your first brand. See Creating a Brand.
Create is greyed out in the sidebar. Hover over it to see why. “Verify your email first” means your email isn’t verified yet. “Complete onboarding first” means your brand is still in onboarding. Finish both, then the Create page unlocks. See Creating a Brand.
I created a design but nothing opened. That’s expected. New designs and transcripts are added as a card at the top of their tab. Click the card to open it. Documents, blogs, emails, boards and AI designs open right away.
A design I made is missing from the list. Check for filters first. Look for chips under the tabs, or a number on the Filter button, and click Clear all. Also check that Type isn’t set to Templates only, and that you’re looking at the right brand.
Search or filters don’t change the AI Design or Boards tab. That’s how those tabs work today. Search doesn’t apply to either of them. On AI Design only the Status filter works, and Boards ignores filters.
Smart search doesn’t find something I just made. Smart search works from a summary of your content that is updated in the background, so brand-new or just-edited content can take a while to show up. Use regular search by name in the meantime.
Delete is greyed out on a design. The design has a social post scheduled, being sent or already published, so it’s locked. Hover over Delete to see why. Cancel the scheduled post first if you really want to delete it. Published designs stay locked. See Post Status and Failures.
Can I get a deleted item back? No. Deleting can’t be undone, so the app always asks you to confirm first.
Why is a design marked “Template”? Someone saved it as a template from the design editor. Templates stay in your Designs list and can be reused from the editor’s Templates panel. See Design Templates and Your Brand Kit.
