Content pillar planner
Set your pillars and how often you post on each channel. Get a month of posting slots with a pillar on each one, then export it to a spreadsheet or your calendar.

How to use it
- Name two to six content pillars: the themes you post about. Give each one a share of your posts. The shares should add up to 100%; use Balance to 100% or Split evenly if they drift.
- Add the channels you post on, how many posts a week each one gets, and the days you post. If you pick more days than posts, the posts are spread across them; if you pick fewer, some days get two.
- Pick a month. The plan builds itself and updates as you change the settings. Once you have edited slots by hand, it asks before rebuilding.
- Click any slot to give it a different pillar or remove it. The pillar mix updates as you go.
- Download a CSV for your spreadsheet, a calendar file for Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook, or print the plan with space to write an idea next to each slot.
How the pillars are spread
First the tool works out how many slots each pillar should get, rounding so the totals are as close to your shares as whole slots allow. Then it walks through the month in date order and gives each slot to the pillar that is furthest behind its share at that point, skipping the pillar used last on the same channel whenever another pillar still has slots left.
If one pillar has more than about half of a channel's slots, a few back-to-back repeats can't be avoided. The planner tells you how many there are.
Choosing pillars and shares
- Start from what your audience comes to you for, then what you need to sell. Most plans have one pillar that carries the rest.
- Keep pillar names short and specific, so anyone on the team can tell which pillar a post belongs to.
- Revisit the shares after a month or two, based on what you could keep up with and how each pillar did.
About posting times
The time on each channel is yours to choose. The planner does not suggest or rank times, because what works depends on your audience and changes over time. Leave the time empty and the calendar file uses all-day events. Times in the calendar file follow the time zone of whichever calendar you import them into.
